Songs celebrating leaving the faith? Not being a puppet, mind controlled, living life, etc etc

i am looking for some songs that are in ref to celebrating leaving, seeing the light, realizing what you were told wasnt right, being happy w your life, etc etc.

all those emotions about being controlled and repressed, being told what you can feel or think or how to live, blindly following the "brotherhood ".

Re Hostage victims killed in Sydney: "dont worry, at least they will NOW get a ressurection"

so most would now know of the vile act in sydney last week where a man held hostage over 17 people in the lindt cafe in the middle of sydney.. two people were murdered...a beautiful, educated lawyer,loving mother of three, and a brave, loving young man working as the cafe manager.. this senseless and cruel act has touched everyone deeply, especially in the communities of sydney.

the outpouring of grief and support for the victims and their families has been immense.. i was therefore outraged to have the following comment made by a witness in conversation at the kingdom hall:.

"well, we dont need to be sad, because at least now they (the two victims) will get a ressurection.

What is most ridiculous about these comments is that the gunman was killed too, so he now also gets to be resurrected.

the jw widow was having a lot of trouble paying her bills and the family was poor.

she had a visit from 2 elders who sat down with her and discussed her situation.

The first part is incredibly inane - a whole load of nothing about singing. Then the guilt-trips for time and money kick in. Then the propaganda starts with the tour of Bethel in Germany. The whole thing is just horrible, really.

my mum recently told me that even surgeons won't have blood transfusions, but the common people don't get told this.

i have also seen or heard others say that a bunch of doctors/health officials/surgeons were asked, at some point, if they would accept a blood transfusion and they all said no.

is this true?

Where do they get this idea from, as I can't find reference to this anywhere? I imagine it is, surprise surprise, some sort of misquote, or is quoted out of context, but I'd like to know for definite in case my Mum ever brings it up again.

Prediction of large drop in JW numbers in 2014

i am going to make the prediction, here and now in mid 2006, that there will be a significant drop in the number of jehovah's witnesses in the year 2014, the one hundredth anniversary of 1914.. the only way this drop in numbers might be avoided is if the watchtower society can think up some way to stir up the rank and file and get them motivated to do more, like they did with the 1975 fiasco.. .

i doubt very much that the watchtower magazine is going to proclaim loudly in the year 2014 anything about the "generation of 1914" not passing away.. --vm44
